2011 Scenic Awards Information Now in its ninth year, Scenic Virginia’s Annual Scenic Awards program is the Commonwealth’s premier event for honoring excellence in the field of scenic conservation, with a special emphasis on projects that can be replicated. Since 2003, the Scenic Awards program has honored hundreds of Virginians -- private citizens, organizations, elected officials, state agencies, local grassroots efforts, and corporations -- for their efforts in preserving the beauty of the Commonwealth. 2011 SCENIC AWARDS EVENT DETAILS: The 2011 Scenic Awards Ceremony & Reception will be held at the Virginia State Capitol on Friday, October 21 at 6:00 pm, with Speaker and Mrs. William J. Howell serving as Event Hosts. AWARDS PROGRAM TIMELINE: The deadline for entries is Saturday, August 20, 2011.
